Our living room is on the fourth floor.  No elevator.  One vinyl loveseat, a desk and table, one closet plus a tiny deck for clothes drying.  Since the Fukushima disaster, the Japanese are especially careful to conserve energy by not using clothes dryers.  The glass in the book case rattles with earthquake tremors.

The tiny kitchen has no supplies so we purchased a few plates, cups and glasses at the 100 Yen ($1) store.  We are still hunting for a sauce pan.  At least we have a tea kettle and coffee pot.
Our little washing machine.  It is easy to use...just turn on the water faucet and touch the big red button.  Japanese instructions are meaningless to me so all loads get the same cold treatment.
Our little bedroom has firm beds, little buckwheat pillows and comfy blankets. They are mighty welcome after exhausting days out on the town.

Oh, did I mention that the towels were also in the stranded duffel bag with American Airlines??  Here is our tiny bathroom.  There is a drain on the floor as well as in the tub.  After a hot shower, the room is dripping like rain. Unfortunately our unit is not one of the newly-remodeled ones or we'd have a heated toilet seat, bowls that spray water, and fake flushing sounds to cover the real ones.
